If you are looking for ways to stop snoring then you know how frustrating it is to lie next to somebody and listen to that awful sound until you eventually doze off yourself. Like the picture there are times that you may want to smother them so you can fall asleep, however you should refrain from doing so! There are other ways to stop snoring that are less dramatic.
My husband was a chronic heavy snorer. If I go to bed first and fall asleep before the bull horn of snoring starts then I can sleep good, but if he goes to sleep first then I know there is going to be some nudging and poking for a small moment of silence in hopes to fall asleep myself.
Ways To Stop Snoring At Home
There are many ways to stop snoring besides poking and nudging your loved one every five minutes until you fall asleep. While some people snore no matter what position they are in, some do not snore as much or as loud when laying on there sides.
Anti Snore Bumper Belts
If it is a sleep position that is the issue then there are anti snore bumper belts that you can buy to stay in the side position. The snorer wears the belt around their lower chest with the bumper on the back side. The anti snore bumper belt prevents the snorer from rolling over onto their back, keeping in the side sleeping position.

Stop Snoring Pillows
Using a s
top snoring pillow can help to eliminate some of the snoring. Some of the stop snoring pillows like the anti snoring bumper belt are made to keep you sleeping on your side. Others are made to cradle your head in a position that keeps your chin up and your airway open.
And one stop snoring pillow that I have seen is actually activated by the snoring sound. When activated, the gentle shifting motion shifts the throat gently side by side. This tightens the relaxed throat muscles, causing them to contract. This reduces snoring and improves the airflow. Over time it strengthens the throat muscles, reducing the incidence of snoring.

Anti Snoring Mouthpiece
By using a stop snoring mouthpiece your jaw is held into the proper alignment. When your lower jaw is adjusted slightly forward, it keeps the throat open and the airway unobstructed. This immediately eliminates the sound vibrations we know as snoring.

Nose and Throat Strips For Snoring
Many people snore due to congestion. Nose strips for snoring can help clear the congestion and quiet the snoring. You place the nasal strip on your nose and it gently lifts the sides of your nose to relieve the congestion.
The throat strips are made to dissolve on the back of your tongue and slightly numbs and lubricates the soft tissues in the back of the throat, which lessens or stops the vibration that happens in snorers.

Stop Snoring Sprays
Stop snoring sprays in two different ways. Some snoring sprays work best in those that have weak throat muscles while sleeping by lubricating the throat to quiet the snoring sound. While others work by opening up the airways by getting rid of the mucus causing congestion and stopping the snoring.

Stop Snoring Exercises
There are stop snoring exercises that you can do that actually strengthen your throat and jaw muscles helping to eliminate snoring. The number one reason that people snore is weak throat or jaw muscles. Doing special exercises will tighten these muscles and prevent snoring.

Knowing the causes of the snoring will help you find a stop snoring solution faster.
- If you experience congestion then the nasal strips or nose dilators will help you the most.
- If you experience weak muscles the sprays and exercises will help you the best.
- If you snore due to sleep positions then the anti snore bumper belts and some of the stop snoring pillows will be your best bet.
- If your problem is the alignment of your jaw and airway then the mouthpiece or stop snoring pillow, or a combination of them both is your best bet.
Once you decide which method is best for you give it a shot so your spouse stops nudging and poking you or worse yet, does not smother you with your own pillow!
